Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information thiswalk.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site promotes the book This Walk Will Change You by Lauren Duke and runs a pre-order giveaway.
The site is operated by Gather Encinitas, LLC. Questions go to giveaway@gatherencinitas.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address, when you sign up for the ten-day nervous system course or for updates.
- Your name, email address, and country, when you enter the giveaway.
- A photo or PDF of your book purchase receipt, if you submit one for bonus entries. Receipts usually show your name, an order number, the retailer, and the date. Some also show a partial shipping address or the last digits of a payment card. We only need enough to confirm the purchase.
- Your mailing address and phone number, if you win and we need to deliver a prize.
- Anything you write to us by email.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, we and our analytics provider collect your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, links clicked, and time on the site. We store UTM parameters from the link you arrived on for the length of your visit and attach them to form submissions so we know which posts and emails brought people here.
Information from others
If you enter through someone's referral link, the giveaway platform records that the referral came from them. If you share your entry link, it records how many people entered through you.
We do not collect payment information. Every pre-order happens on a retailer's own site under that retailer's policies.

- To run the giveaway: track entries, verify receipts, prevent fraud and duplicate entries, and contact winners
- To deliver prizes and the pre-order masterclass
- To measure which channels and pages work
- To answer your messages
- To meet legal obligations, including sweepstakes recordkeeping
Who we share it with
We use these companies to run the site. Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy.
- Mailchimp (Intuit) for email. Holds your email address, name, tags, and engagement history.
- ViralSweep for giveaway entries, referral tracking, and receipt uploads.
- Google Analytics 4 for site measurement.
- Google Workspace for the inboxes that receive receipt and privacy questions.
- Lovable for hosting the site.
We also disclose information when the law requires it, when we need to protect our rights or someone's safety, or if the business transfers to another owner.
Winner information gets disclosed only as the official rules describe, which usually means first name, last initial, and state.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and tracking
The site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and giveaway entry tracking. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block them, the giveaway widget may not work correctly.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals where the law requires it.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
California residents
California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy, to request deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. We do neither. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
In the last twelve months we collected the categories described above: identifiers, commercial information in the form of purchase receipts, internet activity, and geolocation inferred from IP address. We collected it from you directly and from your use of the site.
To make a request, email giveaway@gatherencinitas.com. We may ask you to confirm the email address you used on the site so we know the request comes from you.
If you are in the UK or EU
We process your information because you consented (email signup, giveaway entry) or because we have a legitimate interest in running and measuring the campaign. You can withdraw consent at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your information, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, email giveaway@gatherencinitas.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Your information is stored and processed in the United States by the providers listed above.
How long we keep things
- Email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Giveaway entries: through the giveaway period plus the recordkeeping window in the official rules.
- Receipts: we delete them 90 days after the giveaway closes, except where we need to keep one longer to resolve a dispute.
- Winner records: as long as sweepstakes law requires.
- Analytics data: per the retention settings in Google Analytics.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops the marketing email. If you have an open giveaway entry or won a prize, we may still email you about that.
Security
We use reputable providers, limit who can see entries and receipts, and restrict receipt access to the people reviewing them. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise your information will never be exposed.
Children
This site is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. The giveaway is open only to entrants 18 and older, as the official rules state. If you believe a child gave us information, email giveaway@gatherencinitas.com and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Retailer buttons, social links, and the embedded video take you to sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the last change. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
